Irving Park United Methodist Church Capital Campaign

Our Capital Campaign is on hold while we consider the overall needs of the building and ministry.  All donated funds are in a secure account, and if building redesign or repairs are planned, all donors will be informed as to the process.

The history of the Capital Campaign:

In late 2013 we embarked on a Capital Campaign in order to address building needs that would enable us to continue to serve Christ in the Community from Grace as this congregation has done since 1888. The mission of the people who worship and gather here remains focused on service. After careful discernment and ongoing work since 2000, our Trustees and Capital Campaign Core Team identified a series of key projects and initiatives that are the basis for this campaign.

In October 2014 a special matching gifts element of the campaign was introduced for a designated period of time to raise funds $220,000 needed for immediate repairs to the north wall of our church.

North Wall & Chancel Window

On January 25, 2015 we held a benefit to help raise needed money to do the repairs that will secure the safety of this window and restore the north wall.  Afterwards, we realized that spending a lot of money on the North wall was not wise when the west wall and tower also needed extensive repairs.  Since then, we have consulted with architects, engineers and a developer about a more comprehensive program for building renewal and redevelopment.
