Have skills to share or want to try something new? There are a lot of ways to get involved at Irving Park UMC.
Prayer Network – Faithful partners praying for everyone that has requested a prayer or simply needs to be lifted up. Contact Tina & Wally Felckowski for more information or to be added to this digital network: email@example.com.
Adult Bible Study – David Foster leads this small group on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. in the classroom of the lower level of the church (next to Fellowship Hall). No preparation is necessary. Come, join us as we share the gospel and our opinions, interpretation and personal stories. This is always an engaging and entertaining group that is open to ALL. Contact David for more information: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Care Ministry – This is a small group formed to show love and care for someone who is ill, hurting, troubled, lonely or simply in need of affection. We make prayer shawls, blankets, cold weather scarves and hats for distribution to any in need, both inside and outside of our church. Those who know how to knit or crochet may jump right in to the work, but everyone, regardless of experience, is welcome. We pray over our work, filling the items we make with love, care and prayers for recovery and restoration. We also have a meal ministry for members who are in need of some extra help in the kitchen. This is a ministry for everyone in the church. Don't be shy or self-conscious. Please join us and help bring healing and hope to someone. The power of this ministry is real. If you have any questions, please reach out to email@example.com.
Bad Girls (United Methodist Women) - Bad girls is small group of women that shares snacks, drinks and good laughs while discussing life together. Each monthly meeting revolves around a loose theme of spirituality, God and the church, and covers topics ranging from unanswered prayers to random acts of kindness. Our mission and ministry is to provide opportunities for spiritual, educational and family growth and sustenance for women and children of the church, community and beyond. We also are members of the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Women and thus may participate in their many programs, classes and conferences. We share resources which have regularly been entrusted to us, to enable us to carry out these goals each year. We are a small but dedicated group that meets for business and fellowship the fourth Wednesday of every month. All women of the church are welcome and are invited to join us as we continue and hopefully expand this outreach. For more information: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Church Cleaning Crew – The "any and every odd job at the church that you can possibly imagine" group (fun, fellowship and donuts included). Contact the church office for more information. email@example.com or 773-283-6262
